After saying “I DO”, it’s time to say “YES!” to the dress!

One of the many joys that comes along with wedding planning is finding the perfect outfit to walk down the aisle in.

I’ve compiled a list of To Do’s and Don’ts when it comes to finding the perfect wedding dress:

BOOK APPOINTMENTS

Schedule out your day accordingly by booking appointments for a few bridal shops in one day. Most bridal stores allow you to schedule this online. They may ask you who you plan to bring with you and what styles you like. Booking appointments allow you to have one-on-one time with a trusted bridal stylist.

BRING ALONG PEOPLE YOU TRUST

Chances are you are going to want to bring some family members or friends along for support during this venture. You may be tempted to bring mom, mother-in-law, your three sisters, your best friend, a few more friends, maybe an Aunt… well in this case, less is more! As you try on all those stunning fits, you are going to have many opinions being thrown your way. Keep your girl gang tight knit for this special day.

MAKE A DAY OUT OF IT

Sometimes dress shopping can drag out and seem more tiring than fun. To help ease the stress, make a fun day out of it! Grab a mimosa before hand, then if you end up finding the perfect gown celebrate with a nice dinner afterwards.

GATHER INSPIRATION

When it comes to wedding dresses, there are so many fits, styles, lengths, necklines, silhouettes, you name it! Before browsing the bridal shops, it’s a great idea to browse Pinterest, Instagram or Bridal Magazines first. Arrive at the bridal shop with a few ideas of what you like and what you don’t like. It may also be helpful to bring along a few inspiration photos for your stylist.

TRY ON THE DRESS YOU DON’T THINK YOU’ll LIKE

I know, this sounds a little silly! Why try on something that doesn’t look like any of the photos you love? It has those sleeves you don’t like, and it’s not fitted? Because you truly never know until you try it! SO many brides end up saying yes to the dress they least expected. The worst that will happen is you move on to the next.

BRING HEELS

At this point in the planning process, you may or may not have your wedding day shoes secured. If you happened to have purchased them already, it’s a great idea to bring them with. If not, bring along another pair of shoes with a similar heel height. Wearing nice shoes with your dress will give you a better idea of how everything will look on the big day.

Here are some of our favorite styles at the moment!
