As a photographer, you have to make sure your wardrobe is stocked with plenty of versatile outfits for every type of shoot!
When putting together an outfit for a day on the job, you want to make sure it is comfortable, neutral, professional and weather appropriate. As a photographer, you can potentially be on your feet for 12+ hours and depending on the location, you can be travelling, climbing, or just getting down & dirty to get that perfect shot. I always want to make sure I am dressed for whatever the day may bring! Wearing a neutral outfit can help you stand out as the photographer on a wedding day. This can include an all black outfit, or if that isn’t your cup of tea you can opt for shades of beige. Try to stay away from cream, white, or ivory (especially for a wedding). Neutrals will help the couple or guests easily spot you, plus it gives off a professional feel. Remember, you are being hired to do a job so you always want to keep your outfits appropriate! It’s always a good idea to keep the weather in mind when planning your attire. If it is going to be windy, go for pants or a more form fitting look. You don’t want to worry about holding down your loose fitting or short skirt/dress while trying to capture your clients.
I hope this helps all my fellow photographers feel prepared and stylish for their upcoming shoots!
